Public Safety Officer
Ensures the safety and security of people and property within a specific community or area. Patrols designated areas. Responds to emergencies. Investigates suspicious activities. Enforces policies and procedures. Prepare incident reports. Conduct security checks, monitoring surveillance systems, controlling access to buildings, and managing crowd control at large events.
 
Responsibilities
  1. Patrol assigned areas and respond to emergencies promptly
  2. Enforce policies and procedures.
  3. Monitor and control access at building entrances
  4. Conduct security checks and identify potential security risks
  5. Provide assistance to people in need
  6. Investigate and report suspicious activities
  7. Participate in community awareness and safety programs
  8. Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with the public
  9. Complete incident reports and maintain records
  10. Attend and complete all required training
  11. Adhere to Company uniform policy, tucking in company issued shirt, wear black dress shoe or black tactical boot, wear black dress pants.
 
Qualifications
  1. Proven work experience as a Public Safety Officer, Security Officer, or similar role
  2. Good understanding of public safety and security procedures
  3. Strong observation skills with attention to detail
  4. Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
  5. Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
  6. Ability to react quickly and effectively in emergency situations
  7. High school diploma: Additional training in security, customer service or relevant field is a plus.
  8. Be able to communicate, speak, and write the English language.
 
Skills Needed
  1. Public Safety Officers should have excellent critical thinking skills and be able to make quick decisions in emergencies.
  2. Strong communication skills to interact with the public.
  3. Physical fitness is another essential requirement as the job often involves patrolling, standing for long periods of time and must be able to lift to 50 lbs.
  4. Be able to communicate, speak, and write the English language.
